TO ALL MY RAVEN’S SHADOW FRIENDS…

I have changed the header and background,
the name, too, but my heart remains
the same.

This change is a celebration.
My novel, I LISTENED, MOMMA
has been accepted for publication
by Moon Gypsy Press

and my heart is glad.
Because I’m giving away the royalties
to fight the disease that fights
my earthly father, that destroys
too many lives.

You all know how I feel about cancer.
You know how I feel about Mountain Top Removal.
It does my heart good to know
that my writing will change lives.

Please help me spread the word.
When folks purchase a copy of
I LISTENED, MOMMA,
they also reach out to a
fellow traveler who is
fighting cancer.

Oh, it’s not out yet.
I don’t know the release date…
haven’t gotten the galley copies yet
or seen the cover, but

I’m excited and I want to invite you,
my kindred poetic and artistic spirits,
to walk with me through the process.

Many times I have been a little blue
but a trip here to read your
encouraging words has reminded me
just why I write, because it’s
a spirit thing.

I’ll post more information as soon as I have it.

  1. My heart is very glad too for you, Darlene. This is excellent news; your gift and talent makes you deserve nothing less.
Change is always good, always a sign of life itself. And though quite a few get the opportunity to bring this sign of life into the lives of others, very few actually go ahead to utilise the opportunity. It takes people with a beautiful soul like yours, and I wish you the best and hope that a lot of copies sell.

A chill runs down my spine when I hear about cancer, knowing that so many things that we do consciously also might cause it in the long run. I wish your father peace and recuperation.

    1. Thank you so much, Sumedh. Your words always bless me and lift my spirits.

I know what you mean…there are so many conscious things we do that contribute to failing health.

My father was caught in a trap as a youth. He bought into an image provided by advertisers that a certain product was cool. Back in his day, no one linked tobacco and cancer. Well, the damage has accumulated steadily over the years. He has always lacked the strength of will to walk away from that which damaged him so much.

Thank you for your wishes of peace and recuperation.

    1. Opoetoo,

You are awesome. Thank you. I can’t wait until it comes out. I know I’ve got my cart before my horse [or something like that]. Still, I tend to get excited that way.

Thankyou for your kind words concerning my dad.
